I was planning on making the focus of the recipes on this blog be more savory ones, like the meals that Mr. P and I eat. But clearly this hasn’t happened yet. I blame it on the current heat wave.
Carl’s Jr. recently debuted a new dessert menu item: Pop-Tart Ice Cream sandwiches. And my first reaction was, why don’t I make my own? So I did. They are easy to make and you can customize to your flavor preference.
I chose chocolate fudge pop-tarts and cookies n’ cream flavored ice cream. You can eat them straight away or wrap them in plastic wrap and store the in the freezer. I found them awfully sweet but it was nice, cool treat to beat the heat!
Pop-Tart Ice Cream Sandwiches
- 1 pop tart (any flavor)
- 2 scoops of your favorite ice cream
- Cut untoasted pop tart in half. Place scoops of ice cream on the inside of one half of the pop tart (frosting side should be on the outside). Place other half of pop tart on top and push down slightly to compact sandwich. Eat immediately or freeze for later.
