Mr. P and I both love rice krispies treats. Yes, it’s just cereal and melted marshmallows, but when put together, it is so good!
I baked a few Valentine’s Day themed desserts this weekend including these Rice Krispies treats for him to snack on during the week.
I found some strawberry flavored pink marshmallows at the grocery store, which turned the treats a nice pink hue. I added some tiny heart sprinkles for the full Valentine’s Day effect.
I made these in the microwave so you don’t need a stove or an oven. So easy and still delicious and pretty for Valentine’s Day. I love how these came out!
- 6 cups rice krispies
- 1 bag of marshmallows
- 3 tbsp butter or margarine
- Melt butter and marshmallows in microwave about 1 minute. Remove and begin to stir until completely combined. Pour in cereal. Stir until cereal is completely and evenly coated.
- Place mixture into a 9 x 9 inch greased pan. Press down and pack rice krispies so that you’ll end up with compact treats. Let cool and set for a few hours before cutting and serving.
